Sweetpeas are an old favourite cottage-style flower. These Incense mixed seeds have been developed to become the most fragrant of all the varieties. 

These tall growing blooms can be used to create dwarf hedging, and climb up trellises reaching 180cm tall, and they make fabulous cut flowers too; what's not to like about this gardener's favourite?

Did you know?

Sweet peas are native to Sicily, Cyprus & Southern Italy. A Sicilian monk is said to have sent the first seeds to England in the 17th Century.

How to grow Sweet peas?

sow September -April

How?

September sowings in flowering site 2cm (3.4") deep. Later sowings in pots 5 seeds in each. October and November sowings in a cold frame. January sowings in a heated glasshouse. March sowings in a cold frame. April sowings direct to flowering site.

Glasshouse-raised seedlings should be hardened off during March. Plant out pot-grown seedlings in the flowering site 15cm (6") apart in April. Thin direct sown seedlings to 10cm (4") apart. Pick flowers regularly to encourage new growth.
