A popular carrot for use as a main and storage crop, these produce heavy yields with long thick roots with a lovely colour. Autumn King can be left in the ground during most winters and picked when needed. 

We have grown these from seed ourselves for the first time this year and can vouch for them; they have produced great-sized carrots and taste fantastic, both raw and cooked.

Did you know?  That Carrots are High in the antioxidant beta-carotene, which converts to vitamin A in the body.

Companion planting

Plant carrots with strong-smelling leaves like leeks and onions or herbs, including parsley and mint, can help to prevent carrot flies. 'The aromatic leaves of plants like mint help confuse carrot root flies, who find their host through scent; it's not completely guaranteed, so as a precaution, it's best to cover your carrots with a mesh.

How to sow Autumn King 2 seeds

Sow thinly direct into the growing site 2cm (¾") deep in rows 30cm (12") apart. If possible, sow carefully, so that thinning is not necessary.
