The gardener's choice, and we can see why; we grew these for the first time this year, and would definitely recommend them, we had so many beans, and they freeze really well.

Cobra are black-seeded for early production; they produce lovely long pods of around 7mm wide and are long and straight, with a  long harvesting period, too.

They can be used for indoor or outdoor production. They are the best French beans to achieve the tastiest flavour. They will need support, much the same as you do your runner beans.

This family of beans is frost-tender and cannot be sown until the weather has warmed up.

It's a big thumbs up from us; definitely worth growing!

How to grow climbing french bean "Cobra" from seed

Sow April-June


How to sow climbing french bean seeds
Early sowings can be made under glass at a temperature of 16°C; sow 3 seeds per 8cm in a  pot filled with seed-sowing compost.
Outside sowings can be made from May onwards into the growing site 5cm (2in) deep. Sow 2-3 seeds every 20cm(8in) apart with rows spaced 60cm (24in) apart.
