Lavender Vera is a tall growing type of lavender, suitable for hedging or individual plants. It has silvery foliage and beautiful lilac flowers, which are highly scented.
It grows to a height of about 50cm with slow and erratic germination.
Use for potpourri, scented oils and perfumes and lavender bags.

The scent of lavender is said to have a calming effect on the nerves, and tea made from the leaves and flowers may be used to treat headaches and insomnia.

Did you know? Lavender is actually quite an effective bug repellent; It can protect other plants from certain pests and creepy crawlers as well.

How to grow Lavender Vera

When

Sow. March-May

How?

To plant indoors, sow In small pots or trays. Cover with glass until germination occurs. Keep it at 20°C. Prick out when large enough and gradually harden off.

In spring or late summer, barley cover wtih soil & keep watered. Transplant to final position in the second year.

Prefers a  sunny position and well-drained soil with plenty of lime.
