Pot Marigold petals have a very delicate taste, which is pretty similar to that of a tangerine, and will add a beautiful orange colouring to rice and other dishes.
The flowers also make a salad look inviting and unusual, or if you would like to bring some colour into your home, then pot marigolds can be used as cut flowers or as part of a beautiful bouquet.
Did you know?
In traditional medicine, pot marigolds have been made into ointments, extracts and infusions and used for a variety of ailments, including fevers, stomach ulcers and jaundice, to name a few.

How to grow Pot Marigold from seed
Sow March-April
How to sow pot marigold seeds
Calendula Seeds can be sown directly into the border in shallow drills or by scattering the seed and covering lightly with a rake or container through the spring and summer.
The marigold seeds are large enough to space out when sowing, so thinning is not always needed.
In milder areas, you can sow the seeds in Autumn for mid-late spring flowering.
Harvest/flowering time
Pick & enjoy when the flowers are fully open and dry.
